Organ recital 1

in the Snow

While in the Snow, you can usually hear all sorts of people practicing. A couple people just happened to be practicing this while I was trying to practice organ this morning. on one hand, it makes me jealous of their sweet skills, but on the other, it sounds really cool, and I'm glad there is someone in this world who has musical abilities to make really sweet music. Enjoy! (you'll want to turn the volume up quite a bit. This is inside my practice room, while listining to someone else practice, so its pretty quiet)

happiness is...

today was kinda a down day. as i was driving home, the Tim McGraw song same on, and soon after, the zelda song. they made me happy, and so i wanted to share.

tooth bugs

Yesterday, after general conference, my family went up to my Mimi's house. while there, L was looking through some old song books she got from her mother. there were a lot of old sunday school song books, but one of them happened to be a really old (published in 1939) primary song book. it had all sorts of songs in it. thanksgiving songs, songs about easter, songs about chiristmas. there were even some songs about "grandma's old fasioned garden" the one song that i like the best was called "tooth bugs"

"I do not want to clean my teeth," a little boy once cried,

Some tooth-bugs hiding in his mouth, Began to dance in glee;

songs of my life

my life, i decided, is basically a song. which song you might ask? well, actually, its a few. my mind is one song. its an amazing song that i've been trying to learn for the longest time... (sigh) if only i could play it, maybe i could figure out my mind a bit more. another song that i've fouind that really describes my life. that song, more than any of the others is the one that has fit my life just generaly speaking for the longest. the one i've found most recently will have to discribe my dating life (or lack thereof, as the case may be). i've been hearing this song lots in the last few weeks at work (once a day or more). i've found myself comming home and singing it, unintentionally, but i eventually actually listened to the lyrics and realized....oh wow, that sounds like my life! lat song most describes what i'll entitle my spiritual life. i've found so much comfort from this song, its helped me though many a time. now, if i could find a song that has all of this all in one... guess its not going to happen, cause this has so many borad subjects that there isnt any way that it can all be in one song.

Music and memories

while at the dentist today (only five small cavites, yay for me :P), i heard a great song. introduced to me while at school. now, music has been a part of my life for about as long as I can remember. I've been playing piano since I can remember, and in choirs of any and every kind since third grade. music is possibly one of the few things worth really pursuing in life right now. but, since it has been such a big part of life it has made it so that i relate just about everyting with music. but mostly, people. i've had some favourite songs, but have been ruined from certian peoples, and just general associating it with peoples. great examples are "hey there delilah" (currently being associated with three good friends whom i'll probably never see again RL, SG, and LG) and then "God be with you till we meet again" (mostly associated with dante, but everyone from up at school as well). probably my two most loved, but hated songs. music, its a wonderful thing to associate people with, because then if your talking to them, then you can have a song going on in your head while talking to them. but, if you hear the song, it brings back some powerful emotions. amazing the power of music.
